Coming to US this quarter

After the official announcement regarding the release of Nokia N95 8GB for the US market, the Finnish company also made public the introduction of a bright red limited-edition version of Nokia N95, which will be available until the end of 2008's first quarter.

The red edition of the phone packs the same high-end features as the original multi-award winning N95, launched back in March 2007. The 2.6 inch, 240 x 320 pixels TFT display along with the 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus, flash and video recording (VGA at 30 fps) make the handset an evolved photography device. Furthermore, the latest Symbian S60 3 rd Edition OS allows users to customize the phone by adding various mobile applications and games. Other attractive features of the dual-slide phone include GPRS, EDGE, Built-in GPS receiver, A-GPS, Nokia Maps, Media Player, Java MIDP 2.0, TV out, Stereo FM Radio, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and USB 2.0.

Nokia N95 looks good in the new red case, but many will consider that it's a bit too feminine. I'd say it's kind of thick for a delicate lady, so, in the end, it all comes down to what "feminine" means to you. Anyway, the phone will probably hit the market before Valentine's Day, to make a perfect and expensive gift. Only 5,000 units will be commercialized, so those who want the red N95 shouldn't ponder too much about buying it.

The red limited edition of Nokia N95, as well as the original black and bronze versions, will have a special price for the US market, retailing at $ 599. This is less than the initial price of N95, and could mean that Nokia intends to drop prices for all of its handsets. That would be pretty cool, wouldn't it?
