After keeping it for about three months in alpha stage of development, BitTorrent now releases the beta for Surf, the extension that can turn your web browser into a torrent client.
Back in January, when it was first announced in alpha stage of development, Surf would be available only for Chrome browser. Today, the developer informs that the extension is also ready for Firefox.
Since then, BitTorrent worked on improving the search algorithm to make results more relevant and thus increase the visibility of partner artists. As such, the developer added a recommendation engine and touts prioritization of legitimate content.
Surf now features a window that allows you to monitor the progress of the download. The panel includes health status of the file, size and time estimation for completing the download job.
