After creator Michel Ancel has offered some more information on Beyond Good & Evil 2, the development team at publisher Ubisoft has also revealed a new image taken from the game.

From the content, this seems to be the first official screenshot, taken from the actual engine rather than from a cutscene, and it looks pretty impressive.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 was first shown in 2008 and since then a small team has continued to work on the game, which is now expected to be launched at the same time as the next generation of home gaming consoles.

Ancel has revealed that the mechanics of Beyond Good & Evil 2 is similar to those seen in Assassin’s Creed and in Prince of Persia, but with a heavier focus on the protagonist and on the details of the environments being explored.

Ancel is also currently working on a new Rayman video game.
