Announced back in August, RIM's music service and its complementary BBM Music application, allows users to download and store 50 songs on their BlackBerry devices for free. Each month, users can swap 25 of their stored songs with new ones.

BBM Music is still in beta, but RIM has just announced it has updated the application with lots of improvements and bug fixes.

The latest version 1.0.0.124 improves playback stability on CDMA devices, as well as offline song playback on OS 5.0 smartphones.

In addition, BBM 6.0.1 users can now invite contacts who don't have the BBM Music installed on their devices.

Those who subscribed for a reduced BlackBerry data plan will now be able to use the application over Wi-Fi.

BBM Music 1.0.0.124 is now available for download from BlackBerry Beta Zone (registration required).
