Developer League of Geeks announces that its debut video game, Armello, is coming to Steam Early Access on January 22.

The game will be available for Windows PC, Mac OS X and Linux, and the developers aim to use the feedback gathered from the community to further improve the game.

League of Geeks conducted a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in May last year, securing the necessary funds to develop the game, and is now looking to put the finishing touches on the product before the official launch.

Armello is a digital board game, a challenging high fantasy adventure set in a fairy tale animal kingdom, and challenging players with both traditional board game mechanics and innovative digital features.

The team made great progress

The game looks great so far, with the gameplay promising rich tactical interactions, delivered with beautiful animations and an endearing art direction, featuring bears, mice, rabbits and all sorts of other anthropomorphized critters.

There is a dynamic day and night cycle, emergent quest lines with multiple responses, a ton of tactical decisions to make, and a wealth of lovingly crafted lore to explore.

The game has just got a brand new Steam page as well as a snazzy website up and running, and you can find out more about the release by watching the trailer below.

The final version of Armello is due out later this year, coming to PC/Mac/Linux and to iPad and Android and Windows tablets.
