One week after releasing a maintenance update meant to alleviate FaceTime connectivity issues, Apple offers a similar firmware upgrade that hopes to patch any connection issues you may be experiencing once and for all. The patch targets Snow Leopard users.

Offered exclusively to desktop users running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, FaceTime 1.0.5 is another maintenance update that contains connectivity fixes. Apple says, “This update resolves connection issues in FaceTime, and is recommended for all users of FaceTime on OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.”

Apparently, the 1.0.4 build from last week didn’t do much good, prompting Apple to roll out a new patch. It remains to be seen whether or not 1.0.5 fixes connectivity issues for everyone. The reviews are not very abundant, and few people seem to be aware of the existence of these updates.

The company is also facing some backlash from the iOS community where some customers have begun experiencing similar issues on April 17. There is no update available for iOS customers, but Apple may be addressing the problem through its servers.

Download FaceTime 1.0.5 on your Snow Leopard Mac and see how it fares. For newcomers, the app costs $0.99/€0.89 and supports English, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
