If you’re having problems using the microphone from your Apple headphones with a Mac, it’s because of a bug in OS X, according to the Cupertino company.
And in OS X 10.8.3 there’s a fix for that bug, even though the changelog accompanying its release last month said nothing of it.
Apple reveals in a Support document published online this week that “The microphone on the Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic (Early 2012) may not work properly when you use it on a Mac.”
If that’s you, simply download and install OS X 10.8.3, according to the company.
“This issue is resolved in OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.3 or later. From the Apple () menu, choose Software Update to connect to the App Store and get the latest updates for your computer,” Apple says.
