Animal management game returns - bigger and better

If you had any doubts that the Nintendo DS is pure heaven for all the cutesy little games in the world, Empire Interactive comes to prove you wrong by announcing Animal Paradise 2 following the success the first title had. The game is scheduled to hit the stores sometime during the second fiscal quarter of 2009, so you still have a few months left to enjoy the first Animal Paradise DS.

One good thing for the industry, but something that could cost the developers a lot if not done correctly, is the fact that Empire Interactive does not agree with the "if it works well, don't change it" thing, and plans to bring fans a completely new game structure with the sequel. And we should all applaud such a decision!

"Given the massive success of Animal Paradise in Europe and our recent announcement that we will be publishing Animal Paradise in the US, we're very excited to be bringing Animal Paradise 2 to DS gamers across Europe," said James Spice, Vice President of Marketing at Empire Interactive. "Animal Paradise 2 will build on the historical success of the franchise, featuring more animals, more interactivity and more fun than ever before."

Your aim in the game will be to create the greatest Animal Park in the world by developing, managing and taking care that everything is alright for your animals. With even more pets brought to you by Animal Paradise 2, you will definitely have more fun but not everything will be available to you from the beginning. A new task and reward system will allow you to unlock new animals and areas, plus brand new minigames.

The game will also get a bit educational, since Empire Interactive plans to implement an encyclopedia which will give players detailed information about animals and their natural habitats. But all these will be available only in the second quarter of 2009 - if all goes well with the development and beta tests.
