ASUS has made available a new firmware package targeted at its newly-released ASUS RT-AC87 Router, namely version 3.0.0.4.376.2044, which fixes a few issues encountered with the initial software.

Specifically speaking, the new update resolves the WPS user interface issues and fixes some compatibility problems spotted between AiCloud 2.0 and Internet browsers such as Internet Explorer 11 and Safari 5.1.7.

In addition to that, build 376.2044 slightly improves the GUI and updates the default TrendMicro signature. However, the latter change can also be performed using the initial firmware, as the software could automatically update the signature regardless of any upgrade.

As for installing the new version, since wireless connections are generally faulty, it is recommended that the process be performed over a wired connection. If set up, get and extract the downloadable archive, and log into the router’s web user interface.

Now, simply initiate the installation process from the device’s firmware upgrade section and make sure to use the newly-extracted “RT-AC87R_3.0.0.4_376_2044-g338a0a0.trx” file.

Moreover, while the new software is applying, make sure not to interrupt the process by using the router’s buttons, removing the power adapter or Ethernet cable, or in any other way. Doing so will crash the update and can also cause serious device malfunctions.

With this in mind, download ASUS RT-AC87R Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.376.2044, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and update your router to the latest firmware version. Also, constantly check with our website in order to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
