After the initial launch that is expected to take place in September, AMD will release four more FX-Series processors in the first quarter of 2012, including a new flagship CPU that will be known as the FX-8170.

Not so many details about this chip are available at this time outside of the fact that it will feature four Bulldozer modules for a total of eight processing cores as well as 8MB of L2 and 8MB of L3 cache memory.

Its TDP will most probably be set at the same 125W as that of AMD's first flagship Zambezi CPU, the FX-8150.

The rest of AMD's Q1 2012 processor lineup will include the FX-8120, the FX-6120 and the FX-4120, the first of these featuring eight processing cores and similar specs with that of the FX-8150, while the remaining two will include six and four computing cores, respectively.

Operating frequencies are known only for the FX-8120 at this time, which will have a base clock speed of 3.1GHz and a maximum Turbo frequency of 4.0GHz.

It's important to note that the information provided by Xbit Labs regarding some of these FX-Series processors matches that unveiled by a previous leak, which we covered at the end of last week.

The only thing that differs between these two reports is the launch date of the initial Zambezi chips, as Xbit Labs seems to be certain that this will occur in September.

All the Bulldozer processors that are scheduled to be launched in Q1 2012 are based on AMD's Zambezi 32nm core, carry 8MB of shared L3 cache, an integrated DDR3 1866MHz dual-channel memory controller, sport an unlocked multiplier and are compatible with AM3+ motherboards.

No information regarding pricing is available at this point in time, but AMD has previously confirmed that its fastest FX-Series processor will retail for $320.
