And yes, you’ll have to spend extra on them

If you think that paying $1,500 for Apple’s latest and greatest would also bring you the full package, you’re wrong.

Because despite being the most expensive iPhones in history, the 2018 device lineup lacks some essential accessories, which, of course, you’ll have to buy separately.

In other words, the little things that come in incredibly handy, like the Lightning to 3.5mm audio adapter, will no longer be included in the box when getting an iPhone, despite its huge price.

In addition, despite offering fast charging, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max won’t come with an adapter offering you such great speeds. No, you’ll have to get one from the Apple Store, which obviously generates an additional cost.

All iPhones ship with a 5W power adapter, which provides the same super-slow and painful charging time.

When taking into account the price and the fast charging available on Android devices, the 2018 iPhones could make many think twice before committing to the purchase, though it remains to be seen if these controversial decisions would have a substantial impact on sales.

Faster fast charging

Apple itself has also said that its new iPhones come with faster charging than the previous models, but once again, no specifics were provided. It’s now just a matter of time until we get our hands on the new generation to test it side by side with the original iPhone X and its Android rivals, so we’ll just have to wait a few more days to find out if this is indeed the case.

More surprising isn’t necessarily that Apple ships its super-expensive iPhones with a 5W power adapter, but that all these new-generation models include a Lightning to USB-A cable. This means that iPhone buyers can’t even plug their smartphones into their MacBooks, as the latest laptops have made the switch to USB-C.

For what it’s worth, a fast charger costs $49 at Apple, while the Lightning to 3.5mm audio adapter is sold for $9.99. So here’s another 60 that you’re going to spend when getting the new iPhone.
