Manhunt 2 has had a very big share of controversy around it, and, being named one of the most violent games ever produced, it met disapproval from every rating board. When will it end? When will lawmakers understand that, just as it's unconstitutional and unfair to try and ban the sale of a newspaper because it prints an opinion or a fact that you don't like, it's also unfair and wrong to try and ban the distribution of videogames solely because you do not like the ... |

Who would have guessed it? American teens, that's who, and the "corrupt" retailers exploiting the video games market, selling M-rated titles to individuals getting negative answers at other stores, on the count of being under age. It happens with cigarettes and alcohol, so why wouldn't it be the same with v... |

Just days ago, news broke out that the PSP version of Rockstar's controversial title, manhunt 2, was hackable. Hackable in the way that players could manage a file or two within the pirated copy of the game and un-censor it. As it turns out, it's true. It can be done, but that's not important right now... |

Those who've watched the evolution of Manhunt 2 since it was first rated by boards such as the BBFC, ESRB and PEGI, probably lost all hope of seeing a typical Rockstar violent title hitting their systems. Well, as it turns out, the developer has confirmed the game's presence on North American retailers'... |

Back in June, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) banned Rockstar's violent horror title, Manhunt 2, while the ESRB gave it an AO (Adults Only) rating as far as its console versions were concerned. Back in June, Take-Two Interactive, owners of Rockstar, were forced to suspend the launch of their popular horror title, Manhunt 2, set to launch this Fall. When I first saw the title I thought, "what has someone's remixed Jean Michel Jarre's work or something?" but then when I saw EverQuest II Rise of Kunark in there I realized it wasn't about music, but about my favorite topic in the whole wide world: video games. Yes, it comes just a little bit after gi... |

It looks like the ESRB is still in the digging-up-the-dead business, having sent 3D Realms a letter in which the board advises them to be more careful with their content, as some of it (30 instances to be precise), doesn't comply with the board's Terms and Conditions Agreement. Here's one of them: "old... |

The world isn't by far a safe place. Especially for the children who now have access to everything that's bad for them via Internet, TV and video games. The ESRB can be a total pain in the b**t for those involved with video games, but it's their job to make sure that certain pieces of media don't fall into the hands of youngsters, or people sensitive to some aspects usually found in games featuring sex, violence, drug consuming and so on. We respect them fo... |

This is not hot news anymore. What I'm trying to do here is give you a better picture of what Rockstar's options are with the already highly controversial Manhunt 2, banned by the BBFC rating board and rated AO (Adults Only) by the ESRB. Word on the street is that the ESRB should focus on the Wii's violent games even more than games for the PlayStation consoles and Xbox. Why? Because of the Wii's control Scheme.
