I don't know about Gutsy but video playback was really poor on Feisty. Smaller videos such as that in the final screenshot above might be OK, but higher quality stuff was choppy as hell. Sony doesn't open up it's graphics cards to 3rd party OSes for acceleration from my understanding- has something changed in Gutsy? Seems unlikely.
I was jazzed at the idea of using my PS3 as a media box, but this route was a dead end. In brighter news, though, Sony has said they'd include Divx (and presumably xvid) support in a future firmware update. | | Harry | | Date: 2007-12-10, 15:12 GMT |
