Canadian wireless carrier Rogers has sweetened the deal on its Windows Phone 8X by HTC 8GB smartphone, making it available for purchase at only $0.01 with the signing of a three-year contract agreement.

Users interested in the purchase of the handset at the reduced price should head over to this page on the wireless carrier’s website to learn more info on the deal.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Windows Phone 8-based mobile phone is available at Rogers on monthly plans as well, with a price tag of $499.99 CAD ($506 USD / €388) attached to it.

The smartphone was made official back in September last year, but it arrived on shelves around the world only starting with the beginning of November.

HTC has packed the device with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, as well as with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor inside.

Furthermore, handset sports 8GB of internal memory (a 16GB flavor is also available), and an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording (a front camera for making video calls is also available). The phone also sports 4G LTE connectivity capabilities, along with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth, GPS receiver, and a battery that can deliver up to 7 hours of talk time, or up to 19 days of standby time.

“Windows Phone 8X HTC provides a powerfully personal smartphone experience. Beats Audio brings studio quality sound for your music, videos, and games,” Rogers notes on its website.

“Windows Phone 8X HTC's 8MP camera takes fantastic photos even in lowlight settings while a wide angle front facing camera lets you and all your friends join in a video chat.”

HTC’s smartphone offers support for a great deal of applications and games available for download through the Windows Phone Store, as well as for the various services designed for the Windows Phone 8 platform.
