With the help of Bluetooth technology

There are some situations (I won't mention them here, but you know what I'm talking about) when it's absolutely impossible to look at your mobile phone's display in order to see who's calling. This is the reason why the people from Sony Ericsson partnered with watch-manufacturer Fossil and launched a couple of Bluetooth-enabled watches that will carry out this task for you.

The first model, dubbed MBW-100, was released back in the second half of 2006 and enjoyed quite a high level of success. Now, the two companies have decided to extend their line-up and came up with 3 revamped versions of the Bluetooth watch, namely the MBW-150 series, which have been fitted with an OLED display and provide an extended number of functions, being actually able to act as some sort of a remote control for the user's mobile phone.

The Bluetooth watches offer more than just functionality, since they're available in 3 different models (Music, Executive or Classic) which should fit just about anyone's expectations and tastes. Each of the three models have a scratch-resistant mineral crystal glass face with an antiglare coating and, when not it use, they're no different from a normal watch, thanks to a discreet OLED display that's only seen when needed. Moreover, they incorporate a highly accurate Quartz-powered analog movement mechanism that's completely independent from the Bluetooth module and will thus be able to tell the time in a very accurate manner.

All the devices in the series offer an extended range of functions. Thus, for example, when an incoming call or a text message arrives, the Bluetooth Watch MBW-150 starts to vibrate and displays the caller's ID on the OLED screen. The user can then choose to mute the call or reject it (directly from the watch), or accept it (via a headset, car phone etc.).

Another important feature offered by the watches from the MBW-150 series is their capacity to control the music from the user's mobile phone. Thus, they can be used for viewing tracks, adjusting the volume, changing the song or switching the music player off altogether, something that can prove to be extremely useful, especially when it's rather difficult to reach for the phone.

Sony Ericsson has not released any consistent availability or pricing information as of now, but it seems that these things will be available worldwide starting from Quarter 3 of 2007, with the price depending on each particular region.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
