A.J. Clemente’s first-ever live broadcast with KFYRTV, an NBC affiliate in Bismarck, also turned out to be his last after his first seconds on air saw him use profanity, unaware that the camera was on him.

I also reported on the incident yesterday, with a video of the whole thing being available here. However, *please note that discretion is recommended before viewing it because it contains language that might offend.

At the time the vid was going viral, Clemente had already apologized on Twitter. Also on Twitter, #KeepAJ was trending, Us Weekly reports.

Sadly, it wasn’t enough to help him keep his job.

“Unfortunately, KFYRTV has decided to let me go. Thank you to them and everyone in ND for the opportunity and everyone for the support,” Clemente tweets, as cited by the aforementioned publication.

“Rookie mistake. I'm a free agent. Can't help but laugh at myself and stay positive. Wish I didn't trip over my ‘freaking shoes’ out of the gate,” he adds.
