14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system has already been loaded on some highly appealing devices, yet none of them comes with the hardware capabilities that would match those inside top Android handsets out there.
However, this might change in the not too distant future, at least this is what enthusiasts are hoping for, even if Microsoft and its partners haven’t made official announcements on this for the time being.
Some of those dreaming of better Windows Phone handsets have already created their own concepts to show to the world what the future of the platform might look like, and a new such dream device is now available for your viewing pleasure.
Dubbed Surface Phone, this concept device should represent the hallmark of smartphones powered by the OS, although it might never turn out into a commercially available product.
As 1800pocketpc notes, the device sports a unibody design with chrome real metal detailing, along with a large HD touchscreen display that also sports curved edges.
The 5.2-inch IPS 1080 x 1920 pixels screen is complemented by a 2GHz Tegra 4 processor and 4 GB of RAM (which might seem a bit too much for a mobile phone, one should agree).
Furthermore, the concept phone sports 128 GB of internal memory, while providing users with the possibility to add some more storage to it, courtesy of a microSD memory card slot.
On the back, the concept device sports a 16-megapixel photo snapper with PureView technology and support for full HD video recording.
The handset measures 141 x 72 x 11 mm, weighs 189 grams and has no ports, as all its connectivity is done wirelessly, including the charging. It would be accompanied by a dock with two USB devices, HDMI port and 3.5 mm jack.
As can be seen in the photos attached to this post, the Surface Phone concept indeed looks highly appealing, though we doubt that we’ll actually see such a device launched in the near future.
