A few weeks ago, Sony announced the upcoming availability of a new series of devices in its Xperia lineup, including the waterproof Xperia Go, which just made an appearance at the FCC.

The smartphone is supposedly getting the necessary regulatory approvals for use in the United States, although the handset vendor didn't express plans to bring it stateside.

On the Federal Communication Commission website, the phone is currently listed with US-compatible GSM and EDGE connectivity packed inside it.

However, as Engadget points out, its support for 900MHz and 2,100MHz HSPA bands suggests that it is meant for other markets.

The news site also notes that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread phone’s appearance at the FCC also suggests that Sony could be gearing up for a launch on the International market this summer.
