14 DAY TRIAL // Xperia E1, the latest mid-range smartphone from Sony Mobile, went official today with an appealing design and with great performance capabilities for a handset in the segment, though no info on its price has been unveiled so far.
In fact, Sony has announced the device as the “best smartphone in its class,” unveiling that it will be able to provide users with a great music listening experience. A dual-SIM version of the phone will also be launched.
Xperia E1 borrows some design elements from the current series of Xperia devices and comes with many of their capabilities, as well as with a number of enhanced Sony features. The photo and video galleries below will offer more info on the matter.
The new handset features a 4-inch screen capable of offering an 800 x 480 pixels resolution, while being powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8210 processor.
Sony has packed the mobile phone with only 512MB of RAM and with 4GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.
On the back, the new device sports a 3-megapixel camera with HD video recording (720 p) capabilities and HDR for pictures.
The smartphone is powered by a 1700mAh battery with STAMINA mode, which can deliver up to 9 hours and 12 minutes of talk time, or up to 551 hours of standby time.
The specifications list of Xperia E1 also includes Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Hotspot capabilities, Bluetooth 4.0, USB High speed 2.0 and Micro USB support, and a built-in GPS receiver.
Running under Android, the new mobile phone also features the usual set of Sony apps pre-loaded on top, such as WALKMAN, Movies, TrackID music recognition, SensMe and SensMe slideshow, and access to the Sony Entertainment Network (though only in selected markets).
The device also sports the xLOUD sound enhancements engine, as well as a 100dB speaker. Sony also notes that it comes with Clear Stereo, Clear Bass, and Clear Phase technologies, for a better audio experience.
