The Xperia SL and miro have been up for sale in India since mid-September, but Sony Mobile officially announced the smartphones today anyway.

In addition, the Japanese handset maker introduced the Xperia J in India, which will be available for a suggested retail price of Rs 18,399 (345 USD or 265 EUR).

However, the device is already up for pre-order at Flipkart for Rs 16,490 (305 USD or 235 EUR) upfront. Check it out here.

The company also announced the Xperia SL will go on sale for Rs 32,549 (605 USD or 465 EUR) outright, but the smartphone is also available from various major retailers across the country for around Rs 30,999 (580 USD or 445 EUR).

The same goes for the Xperia miro, which is priced by Sony at Rs 15,249 (285 USD or 220 EUR), but it is now up for purchase for only Rs 14,499 (270 USD or 205 EUR) off-contract.

Sony Xperia J is expected to hit shelves in India in late October. The smartphone will ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, but Sony already announced that Xperia J would receive a Jelly Bean upgrade in the following months.

Xperia J is a mid-range Android phone, so it comes packed with a single-core Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon processor clocked at 1GHz, an Adreno 200 GPU and 512MB of RAM.

The smartphone features only 4GB of internal memory, but only 2GB are available for users. Fortunately, storage amount can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The 4.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution and integrates Sony Mobile BRAVIA technology, along with Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Sony Xperia J also sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
