The largest Android phone to go on sale only next year

Samsung Galaxy Note, the largest Android-powered mobile phone in the world, won't arrive on shelves in the next few months, some of the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The South Korean mobile phone maker has unveiled the smartphone at the IFA 2011 show in Berlin, where we also had the chance to take a closer look at it and provided you with hands-on photos and videos, but did not announce specific info on its availability.

However, it seems that the company did confirm that the new mobile phone will not arrive on shelves until the first quarter of the next year, at least in the UK.

This means that there will be at least four long months to wait for UK enthusiasts who were deeply impressed by this phone's specs and capabilities.

The behemoth should arrive on other markets around the world at the same time, but users in the United States will have to wait a little longer for it to be launched.

Hopefully, the US release of Galaxy Note will follow shortly after the European launch of this device, and will not get delayed by many months, just as it happened with the Galaxy S II, for example.

However, no specific time frame for the release of Galaxy Note in the United States was unveiled until now, and it will take a little longer before that happens, so stay tuned.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Samsung Galaxy Note packs a large 5.3-inch touchscreen display, an HD Super AMOLED panel that can deliver an impressive WXGA resolution (1280 x 800 pixel).

Moreover, the new mobile phone includes a 1.4GHz dual core application processor inside, complemented by 16GB of internal memory (a 32GB model is also expected) and a microSD memory card slot that can accommodate cards of up to 32GB.

On the back, the new device features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash and HD video recording capabilities, while packing a 2MP camera for video calling.

The handset will come with specific technology from Samsung and with an S Pen, so that users will be able to take handwritten notes on it while on the go.
