Robert Pattinson doesn’t like fame and doesn’t court attention in any way. However, once a media outlet gets a hold of him, he’s not the one to back down from answering the very questions that have fascinated publications and fans around the world in recent months, such as whether he’s in love with co-star Kristen Stewart or what he looks for in a perfect girlfriend. OK UK is the latest such outlet to get to hear the answer to these questions straight from Robert.

Female fans of “Twilight” and especially Edward Cullen, the character he plays in the saga, can breathe a sigh of relief: Robert Pattinson is single. “I am young, free and single,” the actor admits for OK. As for dating co-star Kristen Stewart, that too is nothing but just a rumor, since they’re “just friends,” the British heartthrob says. He does try to joke about having a thing for her when they first started shooting for “Twilight,” but then he backtracks quickly and says, “Honestly, we are just friends.”

Girls thinking they might stand a chance to go out on a date with the hottest actor of the moment would better start working out because, from what he says, he likes his girlfriends to be as toned as possible. “What do you look for in a lady?” OK asks. “I like people being forward. Gosh, I don’t know. I like strong people, chiseled abs… I don’t know, I take what I can get!” Pattinson says jokingly.

In the same interview, the actor also adds that he continues to be baffled by the overwhelming reaction to his character, since he would probably fall for Jacob rather than Edward if he were a girl. Speaking of Edward, for Robert, the most challenging part of shooting for the “Twilight” movies is trying to always come across as bad and menacing, while having to look “pretty” all the time.

The “Twilight” phenomenon is also confusing for the British star. “I had no idea people could get so obsessed. But it’s not scary – it’s amazing. People just project their idea of my character on to me and they just seem to assume that I’m the same, when in reality I’m not. It’s kind of weird, but I still haven’t really had time to reflect on it because I’ve been doing stuff to do with ‘Twilight’ and my other movies. I’m working constantly and I feel like I’m always surrounded by ‘Twilight’ people – if not my work colleagues, then my fans. Right now it is fans – it’s a little bizarre if I’m honest.” Pattinson states for OK.
