Lifetime is working on a new biopic / original movie, this time offering a look behind the curtain into one of the biggest fashion houses in the world. “Versace: Beyond the Headlines” will air in October and has landed Raquel Welch for a part.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that the film will be based on the best-seller “House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder and Survival” by Wall Street Journal Reporter Deborah Ball.

It will focus on Donatella’s life after her brother’s death, her drug addiction and her desperate and initially fruitless efforts to carry the Versace name further.

“House of Versace will star Gina Gershon (Bound, Killer Joe) as Donatella Versace as she carries on her brother's legacy following his 1997 slaying. Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars) will play Gianni Versace, Raquel Welch is set as their Aunt Lucia and Colm Feore (Thor) will play their brother, Santo,” THR says.

Aunt Lucia was one of the people who were instrumental in helping Donatella fight and overcome her demons, and become one of the most influential names in fashion.
