This release has updated packages and improved security

The team behind PC/OS announced, a few days ago, the release of PC/OS 2009v2, a Ubuntu-based Linux distribution. PC/OS comes in three flavors: one for regular home users, called OpenDesktop, one for IT professionals, called OpenWorkstation, and a web-oriented one, called WebStation.

"Today, Thursday February 26 2009 we are happy to announce the general availability of PC/OS 2009v2. The new release also introduces the new PC/OS WebStation 1.0. PC/OS 2009v2 OpenDesktop and PC/OS 2009v2 OpenWorkstation have been fully tested and ready for broad consumer adoption.", said Roberto J. Dohnert in the official release announcement.

Among other changes, the user interface received a slight facelift, most packages have been updated and all the security updates were applied.
