Olivia Wilde is Thirteen on the critically acclaimed medical drama “House M.D.,” but, as her male fans must already know, she’s also Maxim’s hottest woman alive for this year. As it happens, this is an accolade that not only makes Wilde want to hide in the privacy of her own home for at least a couple of weeks, but also something she feels she does not deserve, as her interview with GQ Magazine clearly reveals.

Featured in the mag in a stunning photoshoot where she mostly wears close to nothing and a winning smile, Olivia Wilde, the usually shy star, has also been gracious enough to sit down for an interview in which she talks about fame, life in the spotlight and married life. Fame, Wilde says, has come quite unexpectedly and has left her not knowing how to react, but that’s not to say she has reason to complain. After all, things could be worse: she could be like Robert Pattinson, whom she doesn’t envy in the least bit right now, the star points out.

“Wilde was ranked number one in Maxim’s Hot 100 list of the most beautiful women in the world, an honor that flattered but made her reach for the stemware. ‘The day they announced it, I hid in my bathtub with a big glass of wine,’ she says. ‘Anytime anyone describes you with a superlative, people are going to disagree. And I didn’t want to have to deal with those people.’ Wilde, of course, is not the first young actress to feel awkward in the face of babedom.” GQ writes in the article included in the current issue of the magazine.

“I did not envy [Robert Pattinson]. I think it’s the frog-in-boiling-water concept. Robert Pattinson jumped in boiling water and has stayed in it, and hopefully will survive. Whereas I entered the water when it was cold, and it’s been slowly heating up – a slooooow boil. Maybe I won’t realize when it’s getting dangerous.” Wilde then says of living her life in the spotlight. Still, she’s more than grateful for her almost overnight fame, because it has opened many doors for her, offering her possibilities she could have only dreamed of otherwise.

The actress has also talked a bit about one detail not many fans know: her six-year marriage to Italian Prince Tao Ruspoli. It’s not “socially permissible” for a young actress to be married and happy with someone who is not from the showbiz, she says, and this is just one of the reasons she rarely talks about her married life. Another one is that it’s a very personal detail and she feels under no obligation to put her life under the microscope just because the media would want her to.
