Apple ranks highest in customer satisfaction among smartphone vendors, while LG is the highest-rated traditional phone maker, according to JD Power and Associates.

Apple has just released a new marketing initiative aimed at reigniting interest in its smartphone amid the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S4. Published mere days ago, the advert says “iPhone has received eight straight JD Power and Associates awards for customer satisfaction.”

Make that nine, as the group is crowning Apple again in 2013. The marketing firm has released its 2013 U.S. Wireless Traditional Mobile Phone Satisfaction Study which reveals for the ninth year in a row that Apple customers are the most satisfied of all smartphone owners out there.

LG tops the charts in traditional phones, JD Power said. Satisfaction is measured by looking at key factors like performance (29%), ease of operation (26%), physical design (24%), and features (21%).
