Nokia hasn’t launched a tablet PC as of yet, although it did suggest a few times that it was interested in the matter, but enthusiasts are certainly looking for the day when that will happen.

We have already had the chance to have a look at some Nokia tablet concepts, and a new one is now available online for your viewing pleasure.

As one would expect, the device runs under Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system, though it was thought as part of Nokia’s Lumia series of devices (just as Asus Nexus 7 is part of Google’s popular Nexus series).

Featuring the name of Nokia Lumia 8, the tablet PC concept features an 11-inch touchscreen display, a PureMotion HD+ panel capable of delivering a 1080x1920 pixels resolution, as described on this Facebook page.

The slate measures 250 x 175 x 7.5 mm, and was conceived as being both dustproof and waterproof, and sports an aluminum body.

The Windows 8 Pro platform loaded on it should deliver smooth performance on the 2.2GHz Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge CPU supposedly packed inside it, which is also paired with 4GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the Nokia Lumia 8 concept device features an 8-megapixel PureView photo snapper on the back, with full HD video recording.

Its specs list also includes wireless charging capabilities and a laser keyboard. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities should also be included in the package.

There’s no telling on whether Nokia will indeed come to the market with such a device, but the sure thing is that the concept looks great.

As can be seen in the photo above, it also packs design elements from Nokia’s Lumia smartphones, which would certainly make it even more appealing to existing users.

Should the Finnish mobile phone maker actually decide to release a similar tablet to shelves, it might see great demand, that’s for sure. For the time being, however, this is only a concept device, and might never turn into a commercially available product.
