Nancy Motes, Julia Roberts’ half-sister, died over the weekend of a suspected drug overdose, with the police treating the case as a suicide for the time being. According to a new report, her Twitter feed showed signs she was deeply depressed since before Christmas, even attacking Julia on social media.

The Daily Mail has some of the things Nancy is said to have tweeted in her darkest hours. All of them were apparently removed from her feed after the publication of the story.

One of the things she said that most stands out is how bitter Nancy still was about how her relationship with Julia turned out. The two had been estranged for years, according to Nancy herself, because Julia, now a big movie star, considered herself better in all respects than Nancy.

“So my ‘sister’ said that with all her friends & fans she doesn’t need anymore love. Just so you all know ‘America’s Sweetheart’ is a [B-word]!” Nancy tweeted about 3 weeks before she was found dead in an LA apartment where she was pet-sitting.

“Do you want to be a fan of someone so cruel? She’s not even that good of an actress. Happy you totally [expletive]-ed with me?” she continued. Nancy later apologized, admitting that she might have gone too far, saying that “I never been so angry in my life.”

She never clarified why exactly she was angry or whether Julia had done anything in particular to deserve this kind of abuse online but, as noted above, the two had been on bad terms for some time.

In August last year, in a very passionate interview, Motes recalled how she and Julia had a falling out in 2010 and how, before that, her actress sister would always bully her for being plump, which, she claimed, completely ruined her life.

Also on Twitter, after these attacks at Roberts, Motes lashed out at her entire family, saying, “It’s a shame when you get more support from strangers than you do from your family. I can’t wait to officially belong to another family.”
