Motorola Mobility has just announced the availability of an affordable Android smartphone, the Motorola XT319, in Hong Kong.

The smartphone is now available for purchase in Hong Kong for a suggested retail price of HK$1,688 ($217 or 157 EUR).

The XT319 runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and features Motorola's proprietary user interface MOTO Switch, also known as MOTOBLUR.

With the built-in MOTO Switch UI users will be able to customize up to four different themes to fit their need (i.e. entertainment, business, personal life).

Each theme features five desktops and allows users to choose up to 20 possible configurations that are suitable for their needs.

Obviously, additional thrid-party apps can be downloaded and installed for further customization, via Android Market, which provides access to more than 250,000 downloadable apps and games.

Even though the XT319 is a budget-friendly smartphone, it looks quite appealing and comes with a unique mobile phone kickstand located in the back cover.

The kickstand brings up a screen that allows users to choose from up to five hands-free modes, such as SPB TV, music player, photo frame, clock and alarm, as well as a file manager.

Motorola Mobility’s new smartphones can do so much, they become a part of everyday life – an accessory in your hand, or a tool, on the tabletop. Motorola XT319 combines great style and features with hands-free flexibility so no matter what, it’s always ready to keep up with your life,” said Ritchie Ma, general manager of Motorola Mobility Hong Kong Limited, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

On the inside, the Motorola XT319 is equipped with an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7227T-1 processor, 512MB of ROM, 256MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The smartphone sports a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display with 480 x 320 pixels resolution, a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back and a VGA front facing camera for video calls.
