To show others why its platform tops user satisfaction charts

Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform has been around for less than half a year, yet it has already managed to impress many users, mainly due to the overall level of satisfaction it has to offer.

In fact, the platform is said to have topped Android and iOS in user satisfaction, at least this is what a recent poll over at PCMag shows.

In attempt to show to the world why its mobile platform can offer such great satisfaction, Microsoft published a new web demo for all users to have a look at, available on this page.

This is “a fully-interactive web demo that lets you do just about everything but make a personal call. The demo works on most PC and phone browsers,” Microsoft explains in a blog post.

Furthermore, the company notes that the simulator was designed so as to enable users to make a better idea of what exclusive features to the platform, such as the Start Screen, can provide users with.

“The Windows Phone 8 simulator is a great way to see how our award-winning Start screen with resizable Live Tiles works, try out exclusive features like Kid’s Corner, and—starting today—experience what your Facebook info would look on the Start screen and in the People and Photo Hubs,” Microsoft notes.

“In other words, it’s the best way to get a taste of what Windows Phone can do without actually holding one. And if you’re already a fan, please help us spread the word by giving it a Like or posting the demo on your Facebook Timeline.”

What’s interesting to note is that, while Windows Phone 8 won Readers' Choice Award for mobile phone platforms this year with 9.0 out of 10 points, its predecessor, the Windows Phone 7 OS, shared the award last year with Apple’s iOS.

Apparently, “average satisfaction ratings of 9.0 or higher are few and far between and that's why we're so impressed with Windows Phone 8's ratings,” PCMag notes.

The platform also scored high in reliability (9.2), text messaging (9.3), email (9.3), and Web browsing (9.0), and grabbed a rating of 9.2 when it came to the likelihood to recommend. However, the smaller number of apps available for it compared to other platforms hurt its overall score.
