There are no less than eight suites included in the offerings for the 2007 Microsoft Office system. So which one should you get? Well hopefully, this article will serve as a resource to help you make up your mind. Microsoft Office Basic 2007, Home and Student 2007, Standard 2007, Small Business 2007, Professional 2007, Professional Plus 2007, Enterprise 2007 and Ultimate 2007 are the choices that consumers have at their disposal. But which one is right for you?

The main criteria that separate these suites are the desktop programs they include. And this is where the difference is made. You have to closely consider your options before making a selection. Consider a balance between the functionality, features and capabilities each suite provides and your actual needs. Just to make things as easy as possible, I have also included a comparison between the Office 2007 suites in the image towards the end of the article.

Well, let's get to it. Office Basic 2007 contains only Word, Excel and Outlook. In order to streamline your reading experience you have to imply that all the products mentioned in this article are an integer part of the Office 2007 System, unless mentioned otherwise. I will not put 2007 after each Office program because that would be redundant.

Office Home and Student 2007 adds PowerPoint and OneNote to Word and Excel. Office Standard 2007 only features outlook on top of Office Home and Student 2007 but not OneNote. With Office Small Business 2007, Microsoft starts delivering extra features, for example this suite contains Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook with Business Contact Manager, Accounting Express, and Publisher.

Office Professional 2007 comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook with Business Contact Manager, Accounting Express, Publisher and Access. Office Professional Plus delivers Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, InfoPath, Communicator, Integrated Enterprise Content Management, Integrated Electronic Forms and Advanced Information Rights Management and Policy Capabilities.

The last two suites offered by the Redmond Company are Office Enterprise 2007 and Office Ultimate 2007. The Enterprise 2007 suite includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, InfoPath, Groove, OneNote, Communicator, Integrated Enterprise Content Management, Integrated Electronic Forms and Advanced Information Rights Management and Policy Capabilities.

The Ultimate edition of the 2007 Office System features Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook with Business Contact Manager, Accounting Express, Publisher, Access, InfoPath, Groove, OneNote, Integrated Enterprise Content Management, Integrated Electronic Forms and Advanced Information Rights Management and Policy Capabilities.
