Rockstar Games has confirmed that its upcoming Max Payne 3 shooter will come on two discs for the Xbox 360 console, while the PlayStation 3 version arrives on just a single Blu-ray disc.

Max Payne 3 is set to deliver a whole new experience to fans of the classic shooter series, continuing the story of Max Payne while adding a multiplayer mode for the first time in the franchise’s history.

From what we’ve seen up until now, the game is no doubt an impressive experience, but now Rockstar has confirmed that Max Payne 3 is such a massive game that it will arrive on two DVDs for the Xbox 360 platform.

According to the company, the first disc will include the multiplayer mode as well as half of the game’s story, while the other will feature the rest of the single-player campaign.

On the PlayStation 3, however, there’s no such worry, as owners of that console won’t have to swap discs mid-way through their playthrough.

Rockstar’s previous game, L.A. Noire, was so big that it came on three DVDs on the Xbox 360.

Does this detail factor into your purchase decision or are you still going to get it for whatever platform you want or have?
