Mass Effect 3 has just received some brand new details, courtesy of a Spanish magazine, as well as its first two screenshots, showcasing the main hero, Commander Shepard, fighting enemies on the Salarian homeworld.

Mass Effect 3 has been receiving a hefty amount of details in recent weeks, with many coming from a cover story run by Game Informer magazine.

Now, the game has just received more information, this time arriving from a Spanish magazine, via the BioWare forums.

According to the details, Shepard will face a serious threat in Cerberus, as the organization now has an array of assault units and "ninja-style shock troops" as well as mechanical walkers and robots.

The Reapers, the main antagonists of the Mass Effect games, will also play a big part, with their size ranging from as small as 500 meters to over 2 kilometers.

Shepard will be able to engage them in a variety of ways, however, as the cover mechanics have been upgraded. Now, the hero or heroine, depending on your choice, can dive for cover, just like in Max Payne, and do a variety of other tactical moves.

What's more, BioWare has upgraded the melee combat with new moves, and has even introduced a brand new class, called Heavy Melee, which will take advantage of the improved attacks.

The Engineer class has also received some care, with players now being able to build turrets to help with intense shootouts.

The magazine also confirms that weapons can be upgraded, just like in the first game, and that enemies can suffer dynamic damage, with certain ones having structural weak points, especially robots and walkers.

Last but not least, the action of the game will take Shepard from Earth cities like New York or London to a Krogan moon, the Salarian homeworld or Mars, among other planets.

Game Informer has also revealed the first two screenshots of Mass Effect 3, showcasing the Commander engaged in battle against Cerberus troops on the Salarian homeworld.

While it's nothing out of the ordinary, it's good to see that the game has retained much of its trademarks, including lens flares or the sharp, futuristic look.

Expect more Mass Effect 3 details to appear in the near future.
