Mafia II, the gangster based third person shooter from 2K Czech and Take Two, has managed to stay at the top of the United Kingdom video game chart for yet another week to take its total up to three, even though it will probably lose the position next week to Halo: Reach.

Mafia II also turned in a good performance in the NPD Group numbers for August, where it managed to take third spot with its Xbox 360 version, behind just Madden NFL 11 from Electronic Arts.

Second spot in the United Kingdom went to Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2, the flight combat simulation from Ubisoft, which managed to jump up eight position in the chart coming from number ten.

The upward trend of the flight sim pushed down Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, the Eidos branded cooperative shooter which adopts ultraviolence and the shaky camera style of the Internet age as its signature look.

Toy Story 3 continues to do well even if the movie with which it was partnered up is gone from most big screens, coming in at number four.

The first new entry in the top ten is Tetris Party Deluxe from Hudson, which came in at number five followed by Spider Man: Shattered Dimensions from Activision, a game which blends four eras of the comic featuring the character in one engaging package.

At number seven in the United Kingdom chart Square Enix launched Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep while in seventh place Ubisoft has debited R.U.S.E., the real strategy title set during World War II that mixes brute force with mind games.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands from Ubisoft manages to stay at number nine while Red Dead Redemption, the open world Western drama created by Rockstar and published by Take Two, is now at number ten, seeing the biggest drop of the week.

Super Mario Galaxy 2, Just Dance, Wii Sports Resort and Sniper: Ghost Warrior are now out of the top ten.
