14 DAY TRIAL // The cheapest Asha device to date has just been officially unveiled earlier today at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, the Nokia Asha 230.
According to Nokia, the Asha 230 will be available for purchase for only €45 / $60 outright, which makes it the most affordable handset in the Asha family.
Nokia fans should know that the Asha 230 will be available in both single- and dual-SIM variants. The Finnish company has confirmed that the handset will start rolling out immediately across Asia-Pacific, Europe, India, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
Obviously, the Nokia Asha 230 offers all the benefits of the Nokia Asha Software Platform, including Fastlane UI, which has been recently integrated into the company's first Android smartphones: Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL.
It is also worth mentioning that Nokia Asha 230 will come pre-loaded with lots of popular social apps such as LINE, WeChat and WhatsApp Messenger.
The smartphone will allow users to access Nokia Asha 230's camera with just one swipe from the lockscreen. A similar gesture will enable them to share images to their favorite social network services.
Nokia has also announced plans to deliver a major software update, which will be available for all Asha devices that were launched last year. The new update will introduce 7GB of free cloud storage on Microsoft OneDrive, and the option to automatically back up photos to the cloud.
The Asha 230 sports a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution and packs a 1.3-megapixel rear-facing camera.
It also comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion, GPRS/EDGE connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, FM Radio, GPS and 1020 mAh battery.
