14 DAY TRIAL // Many thought of British comedian Russell Brand as the ultimate ladies’ man, while Katy Perry never actually struck people as the type that had marriage on her mind. Four months ago, the two started dating and have been almost inseparable ever since. A few days ago, Brand proposed to Katy while vacationing in India and she, of course, said yes, Us Magazine informs.
Reports of an imminent engagement have been making the rounds for many weeks now, as some of you may remember. They started when the comedian was snapped by paps on what looked like a shopping spree at Cartier for an engagement ring, with shop assistants telling the media that he was, in fact, looking to purchase a ring and wasn’t just casually window-shopping or accompanying a friend. As per the latest rumor, he finally took that final leap and proposed to the singer.
“He kissed a girl, and she liked it: Katy Perry and Russell Brand are engaged, sources confirm exclusively to UsMagazine. The wacky pair – who’ve been dating since September 2009 – became betrothed five days ago while on holiday in Jaipur, India. A pal says that Brand, 34, proposed with a ring, and that Perry, 25, happily accepted,” the US magazine writes. A date has not yet been set, should the unnamed tipsters spilling the beans to the media be in the right about the engagement.
“The exotic trip, a Perry insider tells Us, ‘was his Christmas gift. She told him how much she loved Indian culture while they were eating curry in England, so he surprised her.’ On New Year’s Day, she shared another tourist photo: her hand being painted with a traditional Henna tattoo. (‘Isn’t it lovely?’ she wrote.) The day before, she perhaps hinted at spontaneous decisions to come later that week: ‘In India, the motto... you gotta go with the flow...’” the same mag further says of the couple’s visit to India.
As also noted above, nothing about the so-called engagement is official as of now. However, knowing both Katy and Russell’s love of Twitter, which they use to keep their fans and followers up to speed with their personal life, an announcement in this sense should come any minute now.
