14 DAY TRIAL // Both Android 3.1 Honeycomb-based Sony Tablet S and Sony Tablet P were present on the floor at IFA 2011 in Berlin, and Softpedia took the time to take a better look at both of them.
The Sony Tablet S was presented in hands-on photos and video here, and now we should have a better look at what the other tablet PC from Sony has to offer.
Unlike Tablet S that features a single large 9.4-inch screen, the Sony Tablet P sports two screens in a folding form factor.
Each of the two displays measures 5.50 inches and can deliver a 1024 x 480 pixels resolution, while sporting different functions, in accordance with what users would like to do with the device.
To be more precise, the two screens can be used either as one, for viewing photos or videos while on the go, or can be used as two separate screens, each with its own function.
To enable enhanced features and capabilities when compared to other tablet PCs, Sony loaded the new tablet with the Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, and with its own, custom user interface on top of it.
The same as Tablet S, the new Sony Tablet P sports an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core application processor inside, with each core running at 1GHz.
The tablet comes with a 3080 mAh battery inside, and packs 4GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot that can support up to 32GB of additional storage space.
On the back, the tablet PC sports a 5 megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, complemented by a front facing camera for video calling.
It arrives on shelves with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as with microUSB port and 3.5mm headphone jack, DLNA capabilities, and with built-in GPS receiver. Sony will also release a flavor of this device that can connect to LTE networks.
