Heidi Montag says she did spend 14 hours at the gym each day, but she would take long breaks from working out

Just recently, Heidi Montag said she lost about 27 pounds in just two months by spending about 14 hours at the gym working out. While not false, she’s now saying that her statement was just a tiny bit misinterpreted.

In a brand new interview to promote her upcoming reality show, cited by PopEater, Montag makes an obvious attempt to explain her previous statement, which got her so ridiculed in the blogosphere and with celebrity publications.

She did spent 14 hours a day at the gym but she was obviously not working out all the time because she would often take breaks, she says. In this sense, her previous statement is accurate.

“I would do about three to four hours of cardio on the treadmill a day. I also do a lot of lunges, jumping jacks, push-ups, and sit-ups. A lot of situps. I was doing almost 1,000 situps a day!” Montag gushes.

Oddly enough, the first time she spoke about how she got back in shape, she failed to mention that she would also take lots of breaks, which has sparked some talk about how she may have deliberately misled people into believing she would actually work out for so long every day.

Also in the original interview, Montag said she’d gotten “overweight” after the complete makeover she got through plastic surgery, because she wanted to take some time off the gym to allow her scars time to heal.

She also turned to food for comfort, which contributed to her weight gain.

“I was actually a lot overweight. It was the most I’ve ever been because I’ve kind of been in hiding eating pie with my husband [Spencer Pratt] and puppies, so I needed to get back in shape,” she said, as we also informed you at the time.

“I’ve been working out from, like, 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. for two months now,” Montag claimed. There’s no doubt that she meant that she was actually sweating at the gym for 14 hours and not merely spending time at the gym taking breaks.
