Developer Drinkbox Studios has announced that Guacamelee will be coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with additional content added.

The confirmation validates the December rumors of a Guacamelee for Xbox One and PS4, and further adds that the title will also be released on Nintendo's Wii U home entertainment system, as well as on the Xbox 360, as a digital download, and that it will be named Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition.

The expanded edition will come with a whole host of new features, an extended storyline that includes all downloadable content from the original, as well as two new game areas for players to venture through, a fiery Volcano full of lava and other hazards and the Canal of Flowers, where players will have to save a besieged fishing town.

The most fearless of luchadores will confront ferocious new enemies and The Trio of Death, a new three-headed skeleton boss that lives in the Volcano, assisting the evil Carlos Calaca in building his skeleton armies, by making use of their new abilities, the new powerful INTENSO combat mode as well as Chicken Bombs and Independent Dimension Swapping.

Guacamele: Super Turbo Championship Edition will come with support for multiple save slots as well as a dual currency system that supports permanent item unlocks, and will reach the new platforms during Q2 2014.
