14 DAY TRIAL // Sometime last month, before the Christmas holidays, word got out online that Justin Timberlake had proposed to on-and-off girlfriend Jessica Biel and that she'd said yes. If so, she didn't show any indication of it at the Golden Globes 2012.
The star made her first red carpet appearance in a while at last night's awards gala in Los Angeles, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel but, as you can see for yourself, there was no sign of an engagement ring on her finger.
Reports first emerged about a possible engagement in mid-December, only to be confirmed by various media outlets, some more reputable than others, in the first days of the new year.
If she's really engaged, she doesn't want people to know it for a fact yet.
As AceShowbiz also points out, Biel came to the ceremony alone – or, at the very least, chose to walk the red carpet alone –, almost making a point of flashing her ring-less hand to the cameras.
“Coming to the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California for the awards show, the 29-year-old beauty rocked an elegant look,” the e-zine says of the always stylish Biel.
“She wore a cream lace gown with long-sleeves, a romantic train and high slit up in the front. She complimented the dramatic dress with messy waves and minimal face and eye make-up,” adds the same publication.
Notably absent was an engagement ring, the one she reportedly received from Justin when he asked for her hand in marriage a while back, on a romantic trip they took to the countryside.
“It wasn't the first time Biel hit the red carpet without an engagement ring on though. The "Total Recall" actress also went ringless the night before, Saturday, January 14, when attending the W Magazine Best Performances Issue and Golden Globe Awards celebration at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood,” AceShowbiz further says.
Obviously, this can mean either of two things, voices in the blogosphere are saying: either Jessica is engaged and doesn't want people to know, or she and Justin are at the same stage as before – that is, he's yet to propose – and this is her way of letting the world know.
