“300” might not be the first and last time actor Gerard Butler works with Frank Miller. Whereas no word yet on whether Butler will be in any way involved in the sequel to “300,” the actor himself has confirmed that he’s been approached for a part in Miller’s much-hyped “Sin City” film, Reelz Channel informs.

Butler, for one, considers “300” is well off as it is, a stand-alone film that has managed to usher a new era in movie-making, as critics have repeatedly put it, and a production that more than accomplished what it set out to accomplish. However, chances are the actor might still work with Frank Miller again, as he might be in for a part in the third “Sin City” film, Butler himself reveals.

“You know, graphic novels are things that I wouldn’t do a lot of so I would have to really choose carefully before I did. I mean, at one point, [Miller] talked to me about one of the [Sin City Sequels] and we discussed that. There’s a kind of cool character, I think in the third one.” Gerard Butler said in a recent interview, as cited by the aforementioned publication. As fans can easily note too, Butler’s words leave a lot of room for interpretation, so it’s best if we don’t hold our breath for this one.

Even if the actor does eventually end up accepting the part in question, it might still be years until the fans get to see him in “Sin City,” as work has only just begun for the second installment in the franchise, as we also reported a while back. After much speculation and countless delays, director Robert Rodriguez got back on the saddle and started making the first steps towards coming out with a sequel to the first “Sin City” film. Most of the cast is believed to return in the second film, reports have it.

“People have been talking about Sin City 2 since the first one came out. Whenever I’m out and about, people say, ‘When’s Sin City 2 coming? When’s Sin City 2 coming?’ They’ve been asking that for years. So this probably will add to that, certainly.” Rodriguez was saying a while back as to the second “Sin City” film. At the same time, he added that, while he was seeing to it, for the time being, he had other things on his plate, which meant to say “Sin City 2” would happen, but no one knew when exactly.
