FreeNAS, a free implementation of a minimal FreeBSD distribution, has just reached version 8.3.1.
FreeNAS 8.3.1 has introduced a large number of functional changes in comparison with the 8.0.x branch.
Highlights of FreeNAS 8.3.1:
• The handling of UPS events has been improved; • The permissions regarding the istgt files have been fixed; • Nut now starts with the ups identification from the GUI, not from the generic default; • A bug that prevented the plugin jail import from working has been corrected; • The option to disable large read/write for CIFS has been removed; • The disk is no longer labeled when deleting device extents; • The ability to delete the password from an AFP share has been implemented.
