Microsoft has just announced that the CDI College in Canada has decided to give all students free Surface 2 tablets because they need a more effective way to reach the information they need.

Of course, the company used this occasion to praise the Surface tablets, saying that students are using them for all kinds of purposes, including their educational needs, such as download course materials and assignments, accessing and reading e-books, saving and sharing files with OneDrive and communicating via email and Skype.

“We need to provide students with the tools they will use when they graduate and the skills that will translate in the future as technology continues to evolve, so the Surface 2 and Microsoft software was perfect for us,” said Dr. Bohdan Bilan, CDI College vice president of academics and regulatory affairs, explained.

The Surface 2 is said to be one of the best-selling models of Microsoft's tablets right now, coming with Windows RT 8.1 and a full HD 10.6-inch display.

The device uses an NVIDIA Tegra processor that has been specifically optimized for longer battery life and enhanced performance and among others, it also includes a free copy of the Office 2013 RT productivity suite that's just perfect for students since it includes very popular apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
