What with the kind of interest that the Sylvester Stallone written and directed “The Expendables” is generating on the Internet, it’s only understandable that the movie studio kept fueling the fire, as they say. On that note, a very unofficial-looking official website for the movie has been set up and it has just become the means by which the first official photos of the film reach the fans.

However, the official “The Expendables” website does more than just provide fans with photos from the set in Brazil. It also carries tidbits about the production, about what it’s like to have such consecrated action stars such as Stallone, Eric Roberts and Jason Statham working together on the same set, as well as messages from Stallone himself. Speaking of photos, those just released show that, indeed, “The Expendables” will be one adrenaline rushing action movie once it hits theaters in 2010.

“But we don’t [have problems], thanks to Sly and his total command of the set along with the total professionalism of the cast. No whiners on this film thank God. Today is pretty cool - barney Ross (SLY) and Lee Christmas (JASON) ambush some of Garza’s (DAVID ZAYES) henchmen and all hell breaks loose. I am really impressed with Giselle Itie - she is perfect for the role of Sandra.” a recent post on the website reads. It also mentions the paparazzi who are always trying to get the scoop on what’s going on. “Then there’s the p’razzi who are literally hanging out of the tress in the mountains trying to get a shot. One guy told me he can shoot wherever he likes cause he is a photographic lawyer. I told him I was a ballerina…that’s it for now.” the post further reads.

While Stallone is busy doing the directing, the acting and, as fans must know by now, most of his own stunts, the other actors on set are also having a blast, contrary to what skeptics initially believed about a production with an older cast as “The Expendables” is. Eric Roberts, for one, is happy to share the same set with the likes of Statham and Stallone – and that joy will most certainly be transposed on the silver screen.

“Today I was attacked by Jason Statham firing a machine gun from a dive-bombing fighter plane, nearly burned alive by napalm and had to leap into the freezing Bay of Mangaratiba to save my [expletive]. And how was your day???” Roberts says.

“The Expendables” also stars Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Danny Trejo, Dolph Lundgren, and includes a cameo from Sly’s good friend, Arnold Schwarzenegger. For more on this, keep an eye on this space.
