Duolingo - Learn Languages for Free is now available for iPad. The free app promises to help you learn Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and English the fun way.

Duolingo version 2.0 is a universal app that has been fully redesigned for iPad compatibility. The developers call the Apple tablet “the perfect device for learning,” and the late Steve Jobs would certainly agree with them.

“You’ll have more screen space to browse your skill tree, see friends, and type in answers,” says the company.

A new Landscape mode has been added, enabling users to hold the device however they like, and the new sidebar offers quick access to stats, the leaderboard, and more, with a single tap on the icon to the left of the Duolingo logo.

On iPhone and iPod touch, you have to summon the sidebar, but on iPads, it’s always visible.
