Introduced earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress 2013, Nokia 301 has finally arrived in India and is now available for purchase through various retailers across the country.

Keep in mind that this is not a Windows Phone or Symbian smartphone. Instead, it operates on Nokia’s S40 platform, which is kind of a complex UI.

For the time being, Nokia 301 is only available via Flipkart, but the handset is likely to go on sale at other major retailers as well.

Those who wish to purchase the phone can choose from black, cyan or magenta versions. It’s available for only Rs 5150 outright, which is about $85 or €65. Check it out here.

It is also worth mentioning that Nokia has previously announced that there will be two 301 models available on the market, a dual-SIM version and a single-SIM model.

However, the dual-SIM Nokia 301 will only be available in several countries, including India and China. There’s no word on the release of this dual-SIM model in other regions for the moment, but stay tuned for more updates on this one.

Hardware-wise, Nokia 301 is far from being impressive, but it was not intended to be anyway. The handset sports a 2.4-inch display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 256k colors.

In addition, it packs a 3-megapixel rear camera with video recording (QVGA@30fps), as well as HSDPA (7.2Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps) support.

The phone is powered by an 1110 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide users with up to 888 hours of standby time (936 hours in 3G mode) or up to 20 hours of talk time (6 hours in 3G mode).

On the inside, Nokia 301 packs 256MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM. Additional storage can be added up to 32GB via microSD memory card. Other highlights of the phone include Stereo FM radio, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR support, but there’s no GPS inside this one.
