14 DAY TRIAL // There are a total of three new wallpapers included in the early development milestones of Windows vNext, all of them included below.
As Windows 8 progresses along and is reaching the Beta stage of the development process, the visual identity of the operating system is starting to take contour.
Microsoft is of course working to overhaul the graphical user interface, but the company will also revamp the platform’s wallpaper collection to go along with the redesign.
The three background images in Windows 8 Milestone 1, M2 and M3 made available so far are undoubtedly temporary imagery included with the OS. At least this is certain for the first two wallpapers. (via MDL)
The images that contain the “Shhh… let’s not leak out hard work” message are from the M1 and M2 development milestones of Windows 8, and there’ designed to be a plea to early adopters already testing the operating system.
Obviously, the software giant’s request fell on deaf ears with testers, since no less than three Builds of Windows 8 were leaked in the wild, and continue to be available for download from various illegal sources including torrent trackers and warez websites.
The situation might be a little different for the fish wallpaper from Windows 8 M3. An obvious evolution from the Windows 7 Betta fish wallpaper, this background image features representations of the Pterophyllum species.
Pterophyllum are also referred to as Angelfish and they might get to survive a tad longer in Windows 8.
The Redmond company is reportedly approaching the point at which it will start work on the Beta development milestone of Windows 8.
Since the Pterophyllum wallpaper was included in Windows 8 M3 it might also be featured by the Beta Build, although I highly doubt the fact that it will continue to be offered to users in the RTM copy of the platform.
