14 DAY TRIAL // Defense of the Ancients or DotA, how is often called, is one of the most popular custom made maps for Warcraft III. To give players a better understanding of this complex and sometimes complicated game here is a hero guide.
Crixalis is a hero that is best known for it's devastating ultimatum (Epicenter), that regularly does two, three and sometimes maybe more victims.The Sand King can be recuited from the Neutral Strength tavern. You'll see him as a regular pick in lots of competitive games.
The hero has a cool story as you can see: "A guardian of the ancient Nerubian Kingdom of Azjol-Nerub, Crixalis fled to the deserts of Kalimdor in an attempt to escape the genocide of the Lich King.
The harsh climate transformed this warrior into a master of the earth, able to tear the skin off his foes with vicious sand storms. Those unfortunate to succumb to his potent toxins are condemned to violently burst apart in a cloud of noxious fumes.
Sensing his growing power, the Lich King sought out Crixalis and unable to sway him, slew him in battle. Summoned to aid the Undead Scourge, the heart of the Sentinel quivers each time the ground trembles beneath them."
He is considered one of the strongest initiators in the game, due to the ability to Epicenter and blink, or by simply using Burrowstrike followed by Epicenter. Let's find out a little more details about his spells:
- Burrowstrike (Shortkey E) - Crixalis will burrow into the ground and tunnel forward, impaling everything above him, after which he resurfaces. Burrowstrike will stun the enemies for 1.65 seconds and cause 100/160/220/280 magical damage.
This spell will allow you to jump into a combat situation or teleport for an escape / kill. The range increases with the level: 350/450/550/650.
- Sand Storm (Shortkey R) - Crixalis will create a strong Sand Storm that will blind his enemies and he becomes invisible to them. The storm also causes his opponents to take (20/40/60/80) magical damage/second. This ability is great for farming if you do this build, and also great for escaping death.
- Caustic Finale (Shortkey L) - With each attack, Crixalis will inject a deadly venom that wil cause the target to explode violently on death, causing enemies in the area to take 90/130/170/220 magical damage. Eventhough this is one of the best farming skills in the game, note that is an Orb Effect.
- Epicenter (Shortkey C) - Crixalis will send a disturbance into the earth and cause it to shake violently. Opponents caught within range will take damage (the closer to the epicenter, the more damage) and become slowed by 30%.
The ability has 6/8/10 (8/10/12 with Scepter) pulses, each dealing 110 magical damage. The scepter also improves the cooldown. Note that this is a channeling spell.
The starting items should have some mana and health regenaration, while later Kelen's Dagger of Escape is a must. Also think about Heart of Tarrasque, because altough this is a strength hero it doesn't have huge HP.
