Adele fans, set your calendars for February 12: the singer will perform at the Grammys 2012, as speculated before. She's just confirmed the excellent news on her Twitter.

In late 2011, Adele underwent throat surgery after suffering from recurrent hemorrhage. She's been on vocal rest ever since and canceled all her appearances for the last months of that year.

However, for some weeks, there's been a lot of talk about how she might be making her “comeback” to the stage at the Grammys where, of course, she's nominated in no less than 6 categories.

Adele is setting the record straight, confirming on Twitter that this is actually the case: she will be performing at the prestigious music awards.

“Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It's been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can't wait, speak soon xx,” she writes on her official Twitter page.

As we also reported a short while ago, insiders were saying that Adele had already agreed to put in an appearance at the awards show.

She was also in talks with producers about the possibility of performing, with them aiming to make of her the main “event” of the night.

“Adele will be at the Grammys in Los Angeles on February 12 at the Staples Center. She's thrilled to be nominated, but it's been a hard time for her because of the surgery. She has begun talking more, with her doctor's permission,” one source dished in mid-January.

“Producers of the Grammys would love to have Adele perform, and open the show, but she isn't able to give them an answer yet. She won't be able to give them an answer until the beginning of February, and they completely understand,” the insider explained.

As it turns out, it's possible for Adele to perform too.

This means that she's considered to have made a full recovery from the November surgical intervention on her vocal chords. Fans are breathlessly expecting an amazing performance, the kind she always puts on.

Adele is nominated at the Grammys 2012 for the “big” categories, like Record of the Year and Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Solo Performance.
