The pricing pages for the CPUs and APUs have been updated

We thought that AMD's graphics cards were the only things getting price cuts this month, but we have been proved wrong by the pages where the company lists the prices of its central and accelerated processing units.

We aren't all that shocked to see Phenom II chips getting more affordable. Those things are in their final months of life after all. The A-Series and FX-Series did take us a bit by surprise though.

Advanced Micro Devices has revealed the revised cost lists alongside the release of the Bulldozer FX-4130 quad-core CPU, which we wrote about several days ago.

We won't write about it again, but we will point out the most relevant price cuts.

27 processors will sell for less than before starting on August 27, 2012. That's Monday, two days from the time of this article's writing.

The Phenom II X4 955 BE is experiencing the largest cut, of 22.9% (23%). That means $81 / €65 instead of $105 / €84 for a quad-core 3.2 GHz chip.

Hot on its heels is the Phenom II X4 965 BE (3.4 GHz quad-core), with 20.9% (from $115 / €92 to $91 / €73).

The AMD A6-3670K 32nm Llano APU (quad-core 2.7 GHz, Radeon HD 6530D graphics) is third, with a 20% cut ($100 / €80 to $80 / €63).

The A-Series actually has the largest number of price cuts over 15%, even though the Phenom II's are the most numerous overall.

As for the FX series, the AMD FX-6200 (six-core 3.8 GHz / 4.1 GHz Turbo Core) is the one with the largest price difference, going from $155 / €124 to $132 / €105 (14.8%).

Both consumers and OEMs should be happy to learn of this development. With PC shipments as slow as there are, any customer incentive is welcome.
